The value marked a decrease of 50.4% over the previous month of $1.19bn and a drop of 71.1% when compared with the last 12-month average of $2.04bn.

In terms of number of artificial intelligence deals, the sector saw a rise of 21.05% with 23 deals in July 2021 when compared to the last 12-month average of 19 deals.

In value terms, North America led the activity with artificial intelligence deals worth $298.35m in July 2021.

The combined value of the top five artificial intelligence deals stood at $509.2m, against the overall value of $590.1m recorded for the month.
