Total medical devices industry M&A deals worth $831.84m were announced in the US in February 2021, with Veracyte ’s $600m acquisition of Decipher Biosciences being the sector’s biggest investment, according to GlobalData’s deals database.

The value marked a decrease of 96.2% over the previous month of $22.04bn and a drop of 87.9% when compared with the last 12-month average of $6.9bn.

The US held a 96.52% share of the global medical devices industry M&A deal value that totalled $861.84m in February 2021.

In terms of M&A deal activity, the US recorded 28 deals during February 2021, marking a decrease of 12.50% over the previous month and a rise of 33.33% over the 12-month average.
