According to Taiwan's Minister of the Interior (MOI) population data, the ageing index has reached 101.72 in May 2017, and 13.49% of the country's population was elderly.
In addition, it is expected that Taiwan will become an 'aged society' over the next year.
Industrial Economics and Knowledge (IEK) indicated that along with the growth of the senior population, the demand for healthcare and medical treatments on chronic and infectious diseases will be increasing year-by-year.
