Asia-Pacific witnessed a 2.2% drop in IT hiring activity in the medical industry in March 2022 when compared with the previous month, according to GlobalData’s Job Analytics dashboard.
March 2022 has seen an increase of 0.44% in the overall hiring activity when compared with February 2022.
IT jobs accounted for a 16.89% share in the industry’s total hiring activity in March 2022, registering an increase of 0.54% over the last three-month average share.
Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations leads by classification in March 2022
Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations emerged as the leading IT occupation in Asia-Pacific with a share of 75.49% in March 2022, a 5.71% drop over the previous month. Database and Network Administrators and Architects came in next, claiming a share of 7.52% in March 2022, marking a 24.32% month-on-month increase. In the third place was Miscellaneous Computer Occupations with a share of 5.56% in March 2022, a 17.07% drop from February 2022.
Computer Support Specialists registered a share of 5.39% in March 2022, a 13.79% rise over the previous month.
Top five medical companies in Asia-Pacific’s IT recruitment activity in March 2022
The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, accounted for a combined average growth of 5.54% in the overall IT recruitment activity of Asia-Pacific’s medical industry during March 2022 over previous month.
GE Healthcare posted 150 IT jobs in March 2022 and registered an increase of 16.28% over the previous month. Thermo Fisher Scientific with 76 IT jobs and Danaher with 63 jobs, recorded a 5.56% rise and a 30.77% drop, respectively, while Demant recorded a 23.33% increase with 37 job postings during March 2022.
Country-wise composition of IT hiring in Asia-Pacific’s medical industry
India commanded a leading presence in the region’s medical industry IT hiring activity with a 60.46% share in March 2022, a 10.63% decrease over February 2022. China featured next with a 16.83% share, up 60.94% over the previous month. Singapore recorded an 8.01% share, a growth of 28.95% compared with February 2022.
Junior Level job postings dominate in March 2022
Junior Level jobs held a share of 58.01%, down by 5.84% from February 2022. Mid Level positions with a 32.35% share, registered a growth of 4.21% compared with the previous month.
In the third place was Entry Level job ads with 9.31% share, down 14.93% over February 2022, while Senior postings accounted for 0.33%, recording a month-on-month decline of 50%.
