Asia-Pacific witnessed a 4.9% drop in IT hiring activity in the medical industry in July 2022 when compared with the previous month, according to GlobalData’s Job Analytics dashboard.
July 2022 has seen a decrease of 4.26% in the overall hiring activity when compared with June 2022.
IT jobs accounted for a 14.26% share in the industry’s total hiring activity in July 2022, registering a decrease of 0.1% over the last three-month average share.
Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations leads by classification in July 2022
Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations emerged as the leading IT occupation in Asia-Pacific with a share of 60.23% in July 2022, a 23.74% drop over the previous month. Database and Network Administrators and Architects came in next, claiming a share of 14.02% in July 2022, marking a 28.85% month-on-month decline. In the third place was Computer and Information Analysts with a share of 11.93% in July 2022, a 14.55% rise from June 2022.
Computer Support Specialists registered a share of 7.58% in July 2022, a 28.57% decline over the previous month.
Top five medical companies in Asia-Pacific’s IT recruitment activity in July 2022
The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, accounted for a combined average decline of 19.94% in the overall IT recruitment activity of Asia-Pacific’s medical industry during July 2022 over previous month.
Thermo Fisher Scientific posted 71 IT jobs in July 2022 and registered a decline of 53.59% over the previous month, followed by Medtronic with 54 jobs and a flat growth. Carl Zeiss with 49 IT jobs and Koninklijke Philips with 48 jobs, recorded a 7.55% drop and a 33.33% drop, respectively, while Danaher recorded an 18.87% decline with 43 job postings during July 2022.
Country-wise composition of IT hiring in Asia-Pacific’s medical industry
India commanded a leading presence in the region’s medical industry IT hiring activity with a 67.99% share in July 2022, a 23.94% decrease over June 2022. China featured next with a 13.26% share, up 6.06% over the previous month. Australia recorded a 4.17% share, a drop of 15.38% compared with June 2022.
Junior Level job postings dominate in July 2022
Junior Level jobs held a share of 62.12%, down by 25.11% from June 2022. Mid Level positions with a 21.78% share, registered a decline of 37.16% compared with the previous month.
In the third place was Entry Level job ads with a 16.1% share, up 8.97% over June 2022.
