Australia’s medical industry registered a 4.9% drop in IT hiring activity in May 2022 when compared with the previous month, according to GlobalData’s Job Analytics database.

The industry’s overall hiring increased by 1.34% in May 2022 when compared with April 2022.

Out of the medical industry’s total hiring activity, IT jobs claimed an 8.11% share in May 2022, recording a decrease of 0.02% over the last three-month average share.

Top five job classifications in Australia’s medical industry’s IT recruitment activity in May 2022

Out of the total job titles, the top five roles commanded a 100% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of Australia’s medical industry in May 2022.

1) Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers recorded a share of 46.15% in May 2022, registering a 20% growth over the previous month.

2) Database and Network Administrators and Architects claimed a 23.08% share, an increase of 20% over the previous month.

3) Computer Support Specialists held a share of 19.23%, registering a 25% rise from April 2022.

4) Miscellaneous Computer Occupations captured a share of 7.69%, down 86.67% over the previous month.

Top five medical companies in Australia’s IT recruitment activity in May 2022

The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, have accounted for a combined average growth of 17.65% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of Australia’s medical industry during May 2022 over April 2022.

ResMed posted 5 IT jobs in May 2022 and registered a rise of 66.67% over the previous month, followed by Agilent Technologies with 5 jobs and a flat growth. Cochlear with 4 IT jobs and Align Technology with 4 jobs, recorded a 100% growth and a flat growth, respectively, while Arjo recorded a decline of 83.33% with 2 job postings during May 2022.

Junior Level job postings dominate in May 2022

Junior Level jobs held a share of 76.92%, down by 33.33% from April 2022. Mid Level positions with an 11.54% share, registered a flat growth compared with the previous month.

In the third place was Entry Level job ads with an 11.54% share, down 57.14% over April 2022.
