Australia’s medical industry registered a 10.1% rise in IT hiring activity in February 2022 when compared with the previous month, according to GlobalData’s Job Analytics database.

The industry’s overall hiring increased by 5.94% in February 2022 when compared with January 2022.

Out of the medical industry’s total hiring activity, IT jobs claimed a 12.24% share in February 2022, recording an increase of 1.64% over the last three-month average share.

Top five job classifications in Australia’s medical industry’s IT recruitment activity in February 2022

Out of the total job titles, the top five roles commanded a 100% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of Australia’s medical industry in February 2022.

1) Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers recorded a share of 55% in February 2022, registering a 12% decline over the previous month.

2) Database and Network Administrators and Architects claimed a 15% share, a flat growth over the previous month.

3) Miscellaneous Computer Occupations held a share of 10%, registering a 33.33% decline from January 2022.

4) Computer and Information Analysts captured a share of 10%, up 33.33% over the previous month.

Top five medical companies in Australia’s IT recruitment activity in February 2022

The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, have accounted for a combined average growth of 4% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of Australia’s medical industry during February 2022 over January 2022.

Cochlear posted 10 IT jobs in February 2022 and registered a flat growth over the previous month, followed by Harrison AI with 5 jobs and a 44.44% drop. Abbott Laboratories with 4 IT jobs and Agilent Technologies with 4 jobs, recorded a flat growth and a flat growth, respectively, while ResMed recorded a decline of 50% with 3 job postings during February 2022.

Junior Level job postings dominate in February 2022

Junior Level jobs held a share of 87.5%, up by 25% from January 2022. Entry Level positions with a 7.5% share, registered a decline of 57.14% compared with the previous month.

In the third place was Mid Level job ads with a 5% share, down 77.78% over January 2022.
