Australia’s medical industry registered a 4.2% rise in IT hiring activity in September 2022 when compared with the previous month, according to GlobalData’s Job Analytics database.
The industry’s overall hiring increased by 9.55% in September 2022 when compared with August 2022.
Out of the medical industry’s total hiring activity, IT jobs claimed an 8.46% share in September 2022, recording a decrease of 0.48% over the last three-month average share.
Top five job classifications in Australia’s medical industry’s IT recruitment activity in September 2022
Out of the total job titles, the top five roles commanded a 94.59% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of Australia’s medical industry in September 2022.
1) Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers recorded a share of 37.84% in September 2022, registering a 16.67% growth over the previous month.
2) Computer Support Specialists claimed an 18.92% share, an increase of 250% over the previous month.
3) Database and Network Administrators and Architects held a share of 18.92%, registering a 250% rise from August 2022.
4) Miscellaneous Computer Occupations captured a share of 13.51%, up 400% over the previous month.
Top five medical companies in Australia’s IT recruitment activity in September 2022
The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, have accounted for a combined average growth of 60% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of Australia’s medical industry during September 2022 over August 2022.
Cochlear posted 7 IT jobs in September 2022 and registered a rise of 133.33% over the previous month, followed by ResMed with 6 jobs and a flat growth. Abbott Laboratories with 6 IT jobs and Agilent Technologies with 3 jobs, recorded a 500% growth and a flat growth, respectively, while Baxter International recorded a flat growth with 2 job postings during September 2022.
Junior Level job postings dominate in September 2022
Junior Level jobs held a share of 72.97%, up by 92.86% from August 2022. Entry Level positions with an 18.92% share, registered an increase of 133.33% compared with the previous month.
In the third place was Mid Level job ads with an 8.11% share, flat growth over August 2022.
