Canada’s medical industry registered a 10.4% drop in IT hiring activity in September 2022 when compared with the previous month, according to GlobalData’s Job Analytics database.
The industry’s overall hiring increased by 16.89% in September 2022 when compared with August 2022.
Out of the medical industry’s total hiring activity, IT jobs claimed an 8.05% share in September 2022, recording a decrease of 3.18% over the last three-month average share.
Top five job classifications in Canada’s medical industry’s IT recruitment activity in September 2022
Out of the total job titles, the top five roles commanded a 95.12% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of Canada’s medical industry in September 2022.
1) Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers recorded a share of 58.54% in September 2022, registering a 14.29% growth over the previous month.
2) Computer Support Specialists claimed a 12.2% share, an increase of 66.67% over the previous month.
3) Miscellaneous Computer Occupations held a share of 9.76%, registering a flat growth from August 2022.
4) Computer and Information Analysts captured a share of 7.32%, up 50% over the previous month.
Top five medical companies in Canada’s IT recruitment activity in September 2022
The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, have accounted for a combined average growth of 122.22% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of Canada’s medical industry during September 2022 over August 2022.
Thermo Fisher Scientific posted 5 IT jobs in September 2022 and registered a rise of 25% over the previous month, followed by em-tec with 5 jobs and a 150% growth. PerkinElmer with 4 IT jobs and Henry Schein with 3 jobs, recorded a flat growth and a flat growth, respectively, while Circle Cardiovascular Imaging recorded a flat growth with 3 job postings during September 2022.
Junior Level job postings dominate in September 2022
Junior Level jobs held a share of 60.98%, up by 78.57% from August 2022. Mid Level positions with a 19.51% share, registered a decline of 27.27% compared with the previous month.
In the third place was Entry Level job ads with a 19.51% share, up 60% over August 2022.
