Canada’s medical industry registered a 14.1% drop in IT hiring activity in October 2022 when compared with the previous month, according to GlobalData’s Job Analytics database.
The industry’s overall hiring is decreased by 15.85% in October 2022 when compared with September 2022.
Out of the medical industry’s total hiring activity, IT jobs claimed a 9.04% share in October 2022, recording a decrease of 1.72% over the last three-month average share.
Top five job classifications in Canada’s medical industry’s IT recruitment activity in October 2022
Out of the total job titles, the top five roles commanded a 100% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of Canada’s medical industry in October 2022.
1) Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers recorded a share of 66% in October 2022, registering a 46.77% decline over the previous month.
2) Database and Network Administrators and Architects claimed a 16% share, an increase of 166.67% over the previous month.
3) Computer Support Specialists held a share of 14%, registering a 40% rise from September 2022.
4) Computer and Information Analysts captured a share of 2%, down 66.67% over the previous month.
Top five medical companies in Canada’s IT recruitment activity in October 2022
The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, have accounted for a combined average decline of 34.69% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of Canada’s medical industry during October 2022 over September 2022.
Sonova posted 16 IT jobs in October 2022 and registered a drop of 57.89% over the previous month, followed by PerkinElmer with 6 jobs and a 50% growth. Intelerad Medical Systems with 4 IT jobs and em-tec with 3 jobs, recorded a 100% growth and a 40% decrease, respectively, while Arjo recorded a flat growth with 3 job postings during October 2022.
Junior Level job postings dominate in October 2022
Junior Level jobs held a share of 70%, down by 30% from September 2022. Entry Level positions with a 20% share, registered a decline of 52.38% compared with the previous month.
In the third place was Mid Level job ads with a 10% share, down 37.5% over September 2022.
