Middle East & Africa’s medical industry IT hiring activity rises 2.3% in September 2021

Middle East & Africa witnessed a 2.3% rise in IT hiring activity in the medical industry in September 2021 when compared with the previous month, according to GlobalData’s Job Analytics dashboard.

September 2021 has seen an increase of 9.44% in the overall hiring activity when compared with August 2021.

IT jobs accounted for an 11.83% share in the industry’s total hiring activity in September 2021, registering a decrease of 1.17% over the last three-month average share.

Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations leads by classification in September 2021

Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations emerged as the leading IT occupation in Middle East & Africa with a share of 66.67% in September 2021, a 38.46% drop over the previous month. Database and Network Administrators and Architects came in next, claiming a share of 16.67% in September 2021, marking a 42.86% month-on-month decline. In the third place was Computer Support Specialists with a share of 8.33% in September 2021, a 100% rise from August 2021.

Computer and Information Analysts registered a share of 4.17% in September 2021, a flat growth over the previous month.

Top five medical companies in Middle East & Africa’s IT recruitment activity in September 2021

The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, accounted for a combined average growth of 42.86% in the overall IT recruitment activity of Middle East & Africa’s medical industry during September 2021 over previous month.

Medtronic posted 8 IT jobs in September 2021 and registered an increase of 33.33% over the previous month, followed by Agilent Technologies with 4 jobs and a 300% growth. Starkey Hearing Technologies with 3 IT jobs and Healthy io with 3 jobs, recorded a flat growth and a 25% drop, respectively, while NovoCure recorded a 33.33% decline with 2 job postings during September 2021.

Country-wise composition of IT hiring in Middle East & Africa’s medical industry

Israel commanded a leading presence in the region’s medical industry IT hiring activity with a 70.83% share in September 2021, a 41.38% decrease over August 2021. Kuwait featured next with a 16.67% share, up 300% over the previous month. Saudi Arabia recorded a 4.17% share, a drop of 66.67% compared with August 2021.

Junior Level job postings dominate in September 2021

Junior Level jobs held a share of 70.83%, down by 29.17% from August 2021. Entry Level positions with a 20.83% share, registered a decline of 37.5% compared with the previous month.

In the third place was Mid Level job ads with an 8.33% share, down 71.43% over August 2021.
