IT jobs accounted for a 6.56% share in the industry’s total hiring activity in November 2022, registering a decrease of 0.27% over the last three-month average share.

Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations leads by classification in November 2022

Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations emerged as the leading IT occupation in North America with a share of 52.29% in November 2022, a 45.31% drop over the previous month. Database and Network Administrators and Architects came in next, claiming a share of 17.93% in November 2022, marking a 46.43% month-on-month decline. In the third place was Computer Support Specialists with a share of 12.15% in November 2022, a 39.3% drop from October 2022.

The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, accounted for a combined average decline of 52.89% in the overall IT recruitment activity of North America’s medical industry during November 2022 over previous month.

Danaher posted 96 IT jobs in November 2022 and registered an increase of 146.15% over the previous month, followed by Becton Dickinson and Co with 75 jobs and an 85.9% drop. Abbott Laboratories with 74 IT jobs and Laboratoryof America Holdings with 57 jobs, recorded a 100% rise and a 9.52% drop, respectively, while Thermo Fisher Scientific recorded a 27.27% decline with 40 job postings during November 2022.

Country-wise composition of IT hiring in North America’s medical industry

The US commanded a leading presence in the region’s medical industry IT hiring activity with a 95.02% share in November 2022, a 47.55% decrease over October 2022. Canada featured next with a 3.69% share, down 30.19% over the previous month. Mexico recorded a 1.29% share, a drop of 35% compared with October 2022.

Junior Level job postings dominate in November 2022

Junior Level jobs held a share of 54.68%, down by 52.34% from October 2022. Mid Level positions with a 26.69% share, registered a decline of 40.58% compared with the previous month.

In the third place was Entry Level job ads with 18.53% share, down 33.57% over October 2022, while Senior postings accounted for 0.1%, recording a month-on-month decline of 88.89%.
