Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations leads by classification in May 2022
Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations emerged as the leading IT occupation in South & Central America with a share of 70% in May 2022, a 250% rise over the previous month. Computer Support Specialists came in next, claiming a share of 14% in May 2022, marking a 12.5% month-on-month decline. In the third place was Database and Network Administrators and Architects with a share of 6% in May 2022, a 50% drop from April 2022.

The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, accounted for a combined average growth of 122.22% in the overall IT recruitment activity of South & Central America’s medical industry during May 2022 over previous month.
Hinge Health posted 27 IT jobs in May 2022 and registered a flat growth over the previous month, followed by Danaher with 4 jobs and a 33.33% drop. Abbott Laboratories with 4 IT jobs and Boston Scientific with 3 jobs, recorded a 60% drop and a 50% rise, respectively, while MicroPort Scientific recorded a flat growth with 2 job postings during May 2022.
Country-wise composition of IT hiring in South & Central America’s medical industry
Brazil commanded a leading presence in the region’s medical industry IT hiring activity with a 28% share in May 2022, a 6.67% decrease over April 2022. Colombia featured next with a 22% share, up 450% over the previous month. Chile recorded an 18% share, a growth of 800% compared with April 2022.
Junior Level job postings dominate in May 2022
Junior Level jobs held a share of 92%, up by 130% from April 2022. Mid Level positions with a 6% share, registered a growth of 50% compared with the previous month.
In the third place was Entry Level job ads with a 2% share, down 90.91% over April 2022.
