Switzerland’s medical industry registered a 14.2% rise in IT hiring activity in September 2021 when compared with the previous month, according to GlobalData’s Job Analytics database.
The industry’s overall hiring is decreased by 3.04% in September 2021 when compared with August 2021.

Out of the medical industry’s total hiring activity, IT jobs claimed a 17.89% share in September 2021, recording an increase of 4.02% over the last three-month average share.
Top five job classifications in Switzerland’s medical industry’s IT recruitment activity in September 2021
Out of the total job titles, the top five roles commanded a 100% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of Switzerland’s medical industry in September 2021.
1) Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers recorded a share of 79.78% in September 2021, registering a 33.96% flat growth over the previous month.
2) Database and Network Administrators and Architects claimed a 9.55% share, a decrease of 10.53% over the previous month.
3) Computer and Information Research Scientists held a share of 6.74%, registering a 20% rise from August 2021.
4) Computer Support Specialists captured a share of 2.25%, down 75% over the previous month.
Top five medical companies in Switzerland’s IT recruitment activity in September 2021
The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, have accounted for a combined average growth of 34.92% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of Switzerland’s medical industry during September 2021 over August 2021.
Sonova posted 149 IT jobs in September 2021 and registered a rise of 25.21% over the previous month, followed by Straumann with 14 jobs and a 600% growth. Tecan Group with 3 IT jobs and Accuray with 2 jobs, recorded a 200% flat growth and a flat growth, respectively, while Ypsomed recorded a decline of 50% with 2 job postings during September 2021.
Junior Level job postings dominate in September 2021
Junior Level jobs held a share of 73.6%, up by 6.5% from August 2021. Mid Level positions with a 19.1% share, registered an increase of 41.67% compared with the previous month.
In the third place was Entry Level job ads with a 7.3% share, up 116.67% over August 2021.
