The UK’s medical industry registered a 28.0% drop in IT hiring activity in November 2022 when compared with the previous month, according to GlobalData’s Job Analytics database.

The industry’s overall hiring is decreased by 21.94% in November 2022 when compared with October 2022.

Out of the medical industry’s total hiring activity, IT jobs claimed a 9.32% share in November 2022, recording a decrease of 0.5% over the last three-month average share.

Top five job classifications in the UK’s medical industry’s IT recruitment activity in November 2022

Out of the total job titles, the top five roles commanded a 98.68% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of the UK’s medical industry in November 2022.

1) Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers recorded a share of 50% in November 2022, registering a 45.71% decline over the previous month.

2) Miscellaneous Computer Occupations claimed an 18.42% share, an increase of 40% over the previous month.

3) Computer Support Specialists held a share of 15.79%, registering a 33.33% decline from October 2022.

4) Database and Network Administrators and Architects captured a share of 10.53%, down 92.45% over the previous month.

Top five medical companies in the UK’s IT recruitment activity in November 2022

The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, have accounted for a combined average flat growth share in the overall IT recruitment activity of the UK’s medical industry during November 2022 over October 2022.

Arjo posted 39 IT jobs in November 2022 and registered a drop of 11.36% over the previous month, followed by PerkinElmer with 9 jobs and a 125% growth. Acteon Group with 5 IT jobs and Abbott Laboratories with 4 jobs, recorded a 44.44% decline and a 33.33% growth, respectively, while Elekta recorded an increase of 300% with 4 job postings during November 2022.

Junior Level job postings dominate in November 2022

Junior Level jobs held a share of 52.63%, down by 76.33% from October 2022. Entry Level positions with a 28.95% share, registered a decline of 31.25% compared with the previous month.

In the third place was Mid Level job ads with an 18.42% share, up 27.27% over October 2022.
