The US’s medical industry registered a 1.0% drop in IT hiring activity in May 2022 when compared with the previous month, according to GlobalData’s Job Analytics database.

The industry’s overall hiring is decreased by 3.87% in May 2022 when compared with April 2022.

Out of the medical industry’s total hiring activity, IT jobs claimed a 5.92% share in May 2022, recording an increase of 0.22% over the last three-month average share.

Top five job classifications in the US’s medical industry’s IT recruitment activity in May 2022

Out of the total job titles, the top five roles commanded a 93.92% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of the US’s medical industry in May 2022.

1) Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers recorded a share of 55.72% in May 2022, registering a 3.95% growth over the previous month.

2) Database and Network Administrators and Architects claimed a 13.62% share, an increase of 1.48% over the previous month.

3) Computer Support Specialists held a share of 9.05%, registering a 5.52% decline from April 2022.

4) Miscellaneous Computer Occupations captured a share of 8.33%, down 16.56% over the previous month.

Top five medical companies in the US’s IT recruitment activity in May 2022

The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, have accounted for a combined average growth of 104.87% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of the US’s medical industry during May 2022 over April 2022.

Align Technology posted 142 IT jobs in May 2022 and registered a flat growth over the previous month, followed by Intuitive Surgical with 106 jobs and a flat growth. Becton Dickinson and with 88 IT jobs and Abbott Laboratories with 68 jobs, recorded a 10% growth and a flat growth, respectively, while Sonova recorded a decline of 24.36% with 59 job postings during May 2022.

Junior Level job postings dominate in May 2022

Junior Level jobs held a share of 60.01%, down by 0.11% from April 2022. Mid Level positions with a 24.26% share, registered an increase of 13.62% compared with the previous month.

In the third place was Entry Level job ads with a 15.73% share, down 16.78% over April 2022.
