The US’s medical industry registered a 7.6% drop in IT hiring activity in July 2022 when compared with the previous month, according to GlobalData’s Job Analytics database.

The industry’s overall hiring is decreased by 6.36% in July 2022 when compared with June 2022.

Out of the medical industry’s total hiring activity, IT jobs claimed a 7.55% share in July 2022, recording a decrease of 0.16% over the last three-month average share.

Top five job classifications in the US’s medical industry’s IT recruitment activity in July 2022

Out of the total job titles, the top five roles commanded a 94.71% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of the US’s medical industry in July 2022.

1) Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers recorded a share of 51.86% in July 2022, registering a 6.8% decline over the previous month.

2) Database and Network Administrators and Architects claimed a 12.98% share, a decrease of 18.9% over the previous month.

3) Computer Support Specialists held a share of 12.48%, registering a 46.2% decline from June 2022.

4) Computer and Information Analysts captured a share of 9.58%, down 14.61% over the previous month.

Top five medical companies in the US’s IT recruitment activity in July 2022

The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, have accounted for a combined average growth of 25.9% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of the US’s medical industry during July 2022 over June 2022.

Medtronic posted 159 IT jobs in July 2022 and registered a flat growth over the previous month, followed by Thermo Fisher Scientific with 119 jobs and a 34.62% drop. Laboratoryof America Holdings with 81 IT jobs and Align Technology with 50 jobs, recorded a flat growth and an 18.03% decrease, respectively, while Demant recorded an increase of 23.08% with 48 job postings during July 2022.

Junior Level job postings dominate in July 2022

Junior Level jobs held a share of 58.6%, down by 23.58% from June 2022. Mid Level positions with a 24.57% share, registered an increase of 1.56% compared with the previous month.

In the third place was Entry Level job ads with 16.76% share, down 16.35% over June 2022, while Senior postings accounted for 0.06%, recording a month-on-month flat growth.
