The US’s medical industry registered a 0.4% rise in IT hiring activity in October 2022 when compared with the previous month, according to GlobalData’s Job Analytics database.
The industry’s overall hiring increased by 1.11% in October 2022 when compared with September 2022.
Out of the medical industry’s total hiring activity, IT jobs claimed a 6.6% share in October 2022, recording a decrease of 0.49% over the last three-month average share.
Top five job classifications in the US’s medical industry’s IT recruitment activity in October 2022
Out of the total job titles, the top five roles commanded a 95.07% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of the US’s medical industry in October 2022.
1) Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers recorded a share of 49.85% in October 2022, registering a 5.99% growth over the previous month.
2) Database and Network Administrators and Architects claimed a 17.79% share, an increase of 51.5% over the previous month.
3) Computer Support Specialists held a share of 10.51%, registering a 5.79% decline from September 2022.
4) Computer and Information Analysts captured a share of 9.16%, down 10.34% over the previous month.
Top five medical companies in the US’s IT recruitment activity in October 2022
The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, have accounted for a combined average growth of 144.12% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of the US’s medical industry during October 2022 over September 2022.
Becton Dickinson and Co posted 532 IT jobs in October 2022 and registered a rise of 1734.48% over the previous month, followed by athenahealth with 63 jobs and a 6200% growth. Laboratoryof America Holdings with 63 IT jobs and Thermo Fisher Scientific with 48 jobs, recorded a 16% decline and a 64.18% decrease, respectively, while Medtronic recorded a decline of 38.81% with 41 job postings during October 2022.
Junior Level job postings dominate in October 2022
Junior Level jobs held a share of 61.07%, up by 15.94% from September 2022. Mid Level positions with a 22.9% share, registered an increase of 8.03% compared with the previous month.
In the third place was Entry Level job ads with 15.62% share, down 12.79% over September 2022, while Senior postings accounted for 0.41%, recording a month-on-month increase of 600%.
