Switzerland-based Ascensia Diabetes Care has partnered with Taiwan’s Health2Sync to provide a digital diabetes management solution to patients across Asia.
The integrated solution will include Ascensia’s Contour Plus or TS blood glucose monitoring systems, along with the Health2Sync app and the Ascensia Customer Care loyalty programme.
Designed to enable easy blood glucose monitoring, the lightweight Contour Plus system comes with various features for effective glucose monitoring.
Ascensia Diabetes Care CEO Michael Kloss said: “By bringing together the accuracy and user-friendly features of our meters with the innovative software capabilities in the Health2Sync app, we are able to provide significant value for people with diabetes in this region.”
Under the collaboration, people purchasing the Contour systems could join the loyalty programme following registration for an account in the mobile app.
The app allows users to log and track blood glucose readings, while a Bluetooth wireless technology enabled dongle from Health2Sync facilitates direct download of data from the glucose meter to the app.
Health2Sync CEO Ed Deng said: “The credibility and heritage of Ascensia in diabetes care ideally complement our expertise in innovative software solutions, and we are confident that this combined offering will provide an integrated solution that helps people with diabetes better manage their condition.”
As per the agreement, the firms will initially offer the solution in Hong Kong, Malaysia, Singapore, and Taiwan.
The firms are also working on providing the new diabetes management solution through health insurance providers.
