Zebra Technologies has launched two new healthcare barcode printing solutions that make identification of patients and specimens easy at the point of care.
The new ZQ600-Healthcare series label printer and ZD510-HC direct thermal wristband printer enable printing of durable labels and patient identification wristbands, which allow to accurately pair patients with the appropriate medical records, medication and care staff.
The printers feature Zebra’s Print DNA suite of applications that are powered by the Link-OS operating system. This is essential to offer healthcare IT departments with not just an improved printing experience but also stronger security, easier integration and simplified remote management.
The ZQ600-Healthcare label printer and the ZD510-HC wristband printer are developed by making use of engineered plastics to resist disinfectant solutions often used during device wipe-downs. Furthermore, these printers feature the latest Wi-Fi and security capabilities.
These printers carry Print Touch tag feature that makes use of Near Field Communication to enable quick pairing with Android-based mobile devices and a PrintSecure feature that simplifies printer configuration to block any unwanted access.
Zebra Technologies Specialty Printing Group vice president Keith LeFebvre said: “Built specifically to meet the needs of the healthcare industry, the ZQ600-Healthcare mobile printer and ZD510-HC wristband printing solution enable clinical staff to accurately record critical data on patient and hospital records, helping minimise serious errors and raising the standard for patient care and safety across the globe.”
ZQ600-Healthcare is small and lightweight, and so can be easily carried on a clinician’s belt clip or placed on a cart. It also features an easy-to-read colour display that can identify signal alerts, printer status and errors so that issues can be quickly resolved.
ZD510-HC features cartridge technology that enables quick loading of wristband cartridges as well as smart chip technology to automatically configure printer settings and identify adult and pediatric-sized wristbands.
