The financing was co-led by Asahi Kasei Medical and Rapha Capital Management.

It also builds on the existing partnership between Fize Medical and Asahi Kasei Medical.

Asahi Kasei Medical, which introduced the Fize kUO system in Japan as the exclusive distributor, is set to expand its distribution of the device to European markets.

This agreement is expected to extend Fize Medical’s commercial reach and deepen collaboration across the critical care sector.

Asahi Kasei Medical’s involvement has expanded beyond distribution to include an investment in fluid management.

Fize Medical is working to advance the FIZE Optima platform, designed to use ongoing physiological data to forecast fluid-related risks and assist clinical treatment decisions.

Fize Medical CEO Dror Zerem said: “Asahi Kasei Medical has been an important and trusted partner in bringing FIZE kUO to clinicians in Japan, and this investment represents a meaningful next step in our relationship.

“We are moving beyond monitoring toward a future in which continuous patient data can help clinicians anticipate fluid-related risk and make more informed treatment decisions. Having Asahi Kasei Medical deepen its commitment to FIZE at this stage is a powerful validation of both our technology and vision.”

Fize Medical also intends to use the proceeds from the round to bolster commercial activities in its main markets.

The company develops fluid management solutions for critically ill patients. Its FIZE kUO system, available in Europe, Japan and the US, provides real-time digital monitoring for precision fluid management.

Asahi Kasei Medical is based in Tokyo and supplies dialysis and therapeutic apheresis products worldwide, with a focus on intensive care technologies.
