IceCure Medical has signed an exclusive distribution agreement with Scovas Medical for its ProSense cryoablation systems in the Netherlands.
The agreement will see Scovas Medical become the sole distributor for IceCure Medical’s ProSense in the country, for breast cancer and interventional oncology.

The initial agreement includes provisions to discuss a longer-term arrangement, pending mutual consent.
IceCure Medical develops cryoablation technology designed to destroy tumours by freezing, offering an alternative to surgical tumour removal.
The arrangement with Scovas Medical is intended to support the development of the market, clinical education, and access for physicians in the Netherlands.
IceCure Medical CEO Eyal Shamir said: “This exclusive distribution agreement strengthens IceCure’s European commercialisation strategy and supports broader ProSense access in the Netherlands, a market where interventional oncology, image-guided procedures and low-risk breast cancer treatment de-escalation are highly relevant.
“For selected breast cancer patients, minimally invasive cryoablation may reduce the burden of surgery while supporting improved cosmetic outcomes, patient quality of life, and lower healthcare costs. Scovas brings Netherlands-based clinical support capabilities and deep procedural relationships, and we look forward to working together to expand ProSense adoption.”
In the Netherlands, the company conducted the independent, multi-centre, randomised THERMAC clinical trial of thermal ablation as a potential method for treatment de-escalation in some early-stage breast cancer patients.
The study is currently in Phase III, focusing on cryoablation.
Published results from THERMAC indicated ProSense achieved the highest complete ablation rate among techniques assessed, with a 94% success rate, 0% complication rate, and full treatment tolerance without general anaesthesia.
The ProSense system is marketed in the US, Europe and Asia.
In October 2025, IceCure Medical received marketing authorisation from the US Food and Drug Administration for its ProSense cryoablation system to treat breast cancer.
