LG Electronics (LG) has launched a new 31.5in diagnostic monitor with an in-plane switching (IPS) Black panel.

The product comes with model number 32HQ713D and represents LG’s first medical monitor to be equipped with IPS Black technology.

The technology enables sharp and clear images with deeper blacks and vibrant colours. The 2,000:1 contrast ratio offers a detailed low grey expression.

The new diagnostic monitor is easy to operate with six hotkeys and is expected to provide consistent image quality.

It features an eight-megapixel (MP) resolution that provides the level of clarity required for mammograms, x-rays and computerised tomography scans.

The model has a multi-resolution mode (8MP, 6MP and 4MP) that allows users to adjust screen resolution based on the type of image being viewed.

A built-in front calibration sensor allows for automatic self-calibration to ensure stability of image quality.

LG Electronics Business Solutions Company vice-president and B2B solution business division head Silas Choi said: “LG’s new diagnostic monitor offers the high contrast needed for displaying clear medical imaging.

“Leveraging our outstanding display technology, we will continue to provide medical monitors that meet the specific needs of medical professionals.”

The focus view mode of the 32HQ713D monitor can be controlled with either a mouse or keyboard. It allows the user to select and focus on a specific portion of an image to review by highlighting the area of concern.

The pathology mode ensures the clarity and accuracy of the image as if the user were looking at a microscope.

The hotkeys can be used to quickly adjust settings such as screen resolution, mode and lighting.

Furthermore, the diagnostic monitor is integrated with a user presence sensor that automatically switches the display off after five minutes if no movement is detected.

A one-click stand is provided to enable easy installation. It also comes with adjustable tilt, height and swivel to ensure ergonomic comfort for users.
