Roche has received US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) clearance for its Accu-Chek Aviva Plus test strip.

The new maltose-independent test strip is designed to prevent the interference of maltose on blood sugar readings.

The Accu-Chek Aviva Plus test strip helps patients self-monitor blood glucose and can be used with the Accu-Chek Aviva system.

Roche Diagnostics COO Daniel Day said the new test strips will help support patients to self-monitor their blood glucose effectively.
