Maquet Cardiovascular acquires Atrium Medical

Maquet Cardiovascular has secured US Federal Trade Commission approval to acquire Atrium Medical, a developer of medical device technologies for interventional cardiology and radiology, chest trauma care and thoracic drainage, vascular surgery, and general surgery.

Maquet Cardiovascular has secured US Federal Trade Commission approval to acquire Atrium Medical, a developer of medical device technologies for interventional cardiology and radiology, chest trauma care and thoracic drainage, vascular surgery, and general surgery.

Atrium will now operate as an independent, self-contained business unit of Maquet, preserving its current brand name.

Maquet Cardiovascular president and CEO Christian Keller said that the commission's approval will allow the company to use Atrium's synergies and provide customers with an enhanced product offering.

"In addition to Atrium's innovative product line, we look forward to leveraging future scientific and technological advances resulting from this acquisition, so that we may continue to deliver ground-breaking solutions to customers and patients worldwide," Keller added.
