US-based specialty healthcare company Merz has acquired medical device company ON Light Sciences for an undisclosed amount.
The acquisition has expanded the aesthetic portfolio of Merz which will be supplemented by ON Light Sciences developed DeScribe Transparent PFD (perfluorodecalin) patch used to remove laser tattoo.

The DeScribe Transparent PFD Patch is placed over tattoos before exposing it to irradiation, enabling physicians for a more efficient treatment of tattoos through rapid multiple laser passes in a single treatment session.
It also offers optical clearing of tissue without damaging the epidermis and preventing potentially infectious backsplatter and fumes.
