Israel-based men’s health firm, Ohh-Med, has launched a new app designed to be used alongside its erectile dysfunction (ED) wearable device.

Dubbed Vertica, the app-assisted ED device works by using radiofrequency technology to gently warm and stimulate the collagen and elastin fibres in the penis. Now, Ohh-Med has launched an app paired alongside the device named VerticaPlus which provides feedback and lets  the user know how much their performance has increased.

It follows after research published in the International Journal of Impotence Research (IJIR) in August 2023 detailed how users saw results persist for up to six months after starting treatment with Vertica.

Additional research conducted by UK online pharmacy, Click2Pharmacy, found that more than half of men polled in the UK (58.2%) experienced some form of ED at some point in their lives, whilst at the same time 74.6% of men between the ages of 25 and 34 will experience some form of erectile dysfunction. Further research by GlobalData found that the global ED market is projected to be worth $5.94bn by 2028.

Ohh-Med describes the device as a V-shaped non-invasive, drug and prescription-free device that comes equipped with an app designed to act as a treatment coach, able to optimise results and provide feedback, as well as a series of step-by-step tutorials. Additionally, the device comes equipped with a ‘treatment quality indicator’ based on the actual delivery of the low-frequency radio waves into the penis to better analyse the device’s impact on the user.

Daniel Lischinsky, Ohh-Med CEO, said: “VerticaPlus with the mobile app is a real game changer for men who need the confidence of real-time feedback, or ‘personal coach’ as we call it, as this assures men that they are getting the most effective treatment.

“Vertica addresses a significant unmet need in the male sexual health market for an effective and long-lasting solution that treats the root cause of erectile dysfunction, rather than just the symptom. It can improve male self-esteem and confidence by supporting a full and active sex life.”

As part of the treatment regimen paired with the device, Ohh-Med recommends men use the device for 30 minutes, three-times per week for a first month and then twice a week for the second month.

The announcement comes during  Men’s Mental Health Week, a UK-wide awareness campaign, organised by charitable groups such as the Men’s Health Forum to promote awareness of male-specific mental health issues.

Elsewhere in the field of ED treatment, Australian pharmaceutical company LTR Pharma has begun recruiting subjects for a clinical study of SPONTAN, a quick-acting nasal spray designed to treat the condition.
