Color has announced that the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has given an Emergency Use Authorization (EUA) for the company to provide Covid-19 testing without clinical monitoring. The test now aids the unmonitored testing at-home and onsite for congregate settings. This EUA update is part of its strategy to boost the access to Covid-19 testing.

Bruker Corporation has launched the FluoroType SARS-CoV-2 and next-generation 6-plex PCR assay that is designed for the detection of the SARS-CoV-2 virus, which causes Covid-19. The assay is CE-IVD labelled as per the European IVD Directive (98/79/EC). It is validated for respiratory samples with available laboratory real-time PCR thermocyclers.
The US Department of Defense (DOD) and the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) have awarded a $7.6m contract to Hologic to expand the production of custom sample collection and processing consumables for testing. The investment will allow Hologic to expand the production of consumables to aid the production and availability of Covid-19 tests for the US.
