Dotz Nano has signed a deal with World Siam Company (WSG) to supply its Dotz Test Kits for Covid-19 in Thailand, Taiwan News reported. Under the deal, WSG will have the conditional exclusive right to promote, market and supply the nasopharyngeal swab and saliva-based test kits for three years in the initial stage. The company will distribute the kits for $250,000 in the first year. Earlier, Dotz signed a three-year agreement with Malaysian company Science Vision, to deliver the kits for $600,000 in the first year. Based on reverse transcription-loop-mediated isothermal amplification (RT-LAMP) diagnostic technique, the test kits can process approximately 100 samples in 30 minutes.

A team of scientists at Pohang University of Science and Technology (POSTECH) in South Korea has developed a diagnostic technology for the identification of the Omicron variant of SARS-CoV-2 in 20 minutes. The test can also identify the variant’s stealth version. The latest testing method can identify some points with mutations in the amplified gene and does not need specialised equipment to carry out the test.
