LumiraDx and digital health company Audere have collaborated to provide a self-collected Covid-19 nasal sample collection kit intended for usage with LumiraDx SARS-CoV-2 RNA STAR Complete assay for Covid-19 detection. This will aid in processing the self-obtained specimen. HealthPulse@home, Audere’s testing solution, complements LumiraDx’s efforts to boost testing access and support an increasing number of testing requirements. With the latest development, labs leveraging the LumiraDx will be able to incorporate the solution into their systems.
Avacta has reported that its antigen lateral flow test demonstrated the ability to identify the SARS-CoV-2 virus’ Omicron variant from clinical samples. In an analysis at the Carlos III Hospital in Madrid, Spain, the AffiDX SARS-CoV-2 antigen lateral flow test showed its ability to detect the Omicron variant as well as other variants of concern. The company also plans to file an application to commercialise the AffiDX test in the UK.
