Irish-company MyBio has signed a distribution agreement with German manufacturer MöLab for its Covid-19 antibody diagnostic test kit. The test kit is claimed to offer ‘excellent diagnostic specificity and sensitivity’ for IgG and IgM antibodies, which indicate if a person has been exposed to coronavirus in the past. It is being offered for professional use and provides result in ten minutes. The test requires a finger-prick sample and is also compatible with serum or plasma samples.

The technology, Hytera body temperature measurement solution, offers a no-contact way to measure the temperature of a patient to reduce the risk of Covid-19 transmission. This is expected to create a safer and more secure environment when work resumes.

Open Orphan has launched a hVIVO Covid Clear Test, an antibody test for UK employers. This test is expected to help them resume operations. Recently, the company secured rights from Quotient for its antibody testing platform, which is claimed to offer 100% accuracy in detecting antibodies when present. The blood sample is tested using the MosaiQ Covid-19 Antibody Microarray and the results are provided within 48 hours.
