Philips Foundation has supplied two mobile isolation care units to the Italian Red Cross to aid Covid-19 patients, with support from Philips Italy, AFAS Foundation and Noaber Foundation. The units arrived from the Netherlands and reached Italy the previous week, and will be sent to Sardinia and Lombardy. These units are expected to expand the capacity of the care local health facilities, aid patient screening and hospitalisation and offer first aid and quality assistance to patients who may be infected and are confirmed to have Covid-19.
Roche has received the Emergency Use Authorization (EUA) from the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) for its new Elecsys Anti-SARS-CoV-2 antibody test. This test is expected to identify if a patient has been exposed to the Covid-19 causing SARS-CoV-2 virus and if the body has developed antibodies to fight against SARS-CoV-2. The company has commenced shipping of the new antibody test to laboratories around the world.

NGen has invested over C$21m ($14.9m) in projects that can increase the production of critically needed technologies, equipment and medical devices in Canada to boost the fight against Covid-19. After the company announced the funding programme, it received over 900 expressions of interest. It has approved projects relating to the manufacturing of ventilators and SARS-CoV-2 assays, among others.
Trax Management Services has launched its EUA-approved Covid-19 test kit. The test, PhoenixDx 2019-nCoV, is a real-time Qualitative RT-PCR that can detect the virus and provide results in less than 120 minutes. RT-PCR is said to be faster with a lower probability of contamination or errors as the test is done in a closed tube.
