The US Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) has planned to buy BD diagnostic solutions to boost the access to rapid point-of-care testing for Covid-19 via a broad, decentralised testing instrumentation network. HHS has given its commitment to buy 2,000 BD Veritor Plus Systems and 750,000 SARS-CoV-2 antigen test kits, which will be distributed next week.

The systems are used during surgery and special procedures.
