Globally, the total confirmed cases of Covid-19 have reached over 95,121,000 with more than 2,032,000 deaths, surpassing the milestone of 2,000,000 deaths on Friday 15th January. Worldwide, there have been over 52,363,000 recoveries.

The US, India, and Brazil remain the top three most affected countries worldwide with increasing numbers of new confirmed cases observed in Brazil, while 7-day averages of new daily confirmed cases decrease in India and the US.

Of the three markers, the US continues to have the highest numbers of total cases relative to population size, at 73,000 per 1,000,000 people.

This compares to approximately 7,800 and 40,600 total cases per 1,000,000 population in India and Brazil, respectively.

In its latest Emergency Committee held last Friday, the WHO called for greater data sharing efforts and equitable access to vaccinations to collaboratively combat the Covid-19 pandemic.
