RaySearch Laboratories has received an order from the Australian Bragg Centre for Proton Therapy and Research (ABCPTR) for its RayCare oncology information system.

Designed to support comprehensive cancer care, RayCare is integrated with the RayStation treatment planning system to access its treatment planning tools.

The system allows for the controlling of treatment scheduling and optimally allocates machines as per the treatment requirements, patient preferences and staff schedules.

Its patient chart includes several tools for managing administrative and clinical patient information.

For improving the treatment planning process, the system provides task management for all the steps in the planning and quality assurance workflow.

Using the RayTreat control application, RayCare intends to link to all treatment delivery devices in operation at modern oncology centres across the world.

Michael Penniment, associate professor and ABCPTR medical director, said: “This partnership with RaySearch marks a significant step in ABCPTR’s mission to revolutionise cancer care in Australia.

ABCPTR also intends to order the RayStation system from RaySearch at a later stage.
