Cadwell Industries has made a strategic investment in Australia-based Seer Medical, which specialises in home-based epilepsy diagnostics.

The investment, made in collaboration with investors TrialCap and Breakthrough Victoria, aims to integrate Seer Medical’s long-term home EEG technology into Cadwell’s current electroencephalography (EEG) portfolio.

This will enable the creation of a product line for ambulatory, clinical and hospital-based epilepsy diagnostic and treatment centres.

The investment also grants Cadwell access to Seer Medical’s staff and office in Melbourne, broadening its technical capabilities and product development potential.

Founded in 2017, Seer Medical utilises web, AI, and cloud technologies to progress epilepsy care.

Its flagship product Seer Home is stated to focus on home-based video EEG monitoring. This technology claims to measure the electrical activity of the brain and expedite the identification of epilepsy, eliminating the necessity for inpatient care.

According to Cadwell, epilepsy represents the most prevalent brain condition that affects individuals across all age groups, with a worldwide impact on more than 50 million people.

Medical technology and services company Cadwell claims to offer neuromonitoring, neurodiagnostic, and sleep solutions to global clinicians.

The company’s solutions include the Arc EEG, Cascade IONM, ApneaTrak HSAT, Sierra EMG/NCS/EP/Ultrasound, and Easy III PSG systems.

In 2023, Cadwell introduced the wireless In-Home EEG remote monitoring solution Arc Voyager in the US.
