It will utilise GE HealthCare’s portfolio of technologies across various modalities, including magnetic resonance (MR), nuclear medicine, computed tomography (CT), X-ray, and ultrasound, in areas such as general imaging, cardiovascular, women’s health, and point of care.

The alliance is expected to offer access to the latest imaging technology, potentially reducing scan times, wait times for care, and improving diagnostic accuracy.

This agreement signifies a continuation of the longstanding connection between Ascension Health and GE HealthCare.

Both organisations aim to explore further opportunities to progress patient care and access, especially in the main markets.

Ascension’s operations include 30 senior living facilities and various other care sites that provide a range of healthcare services.

Last month, GE HealthCare renewed its research partnership with Stanford Medicine in the US, focusing on the advancement of total body positron emission tomography (PET) / CT technology.

The company also introduced software that integrates its imaging functionalities with tools from a platform developed by MIM Software, aiming to optimise imaging workflows in fields such as oncology and cardiology.
