Garmin subsidiary Garmin International has announced the compatibility of the Cardiogram heart health app with all the company’s wearables featuring optical heart rate, including the fēnix, Forerunner, and vívo series devices.

The app, which provides advanced insights based on data from wearable devices, helps users better understand how activity and sleep affect their overall health.

Cardiogram co-founder Johnson Hsieh said: “By directly integrating through the Garmin Health API, Cardiogram has access to the wide array of advanced metrics these devices generate.”

“The app, which provides advanced insights based on data from wearable devices, helps users better understand how activity and sleep affect their overall health.”

Cardiogram has collaborated with the Department of Cardiology at the University of California, San Francisco, in the US to combine data from optical heart rate sensors and its artificial intelligence-based algorithm DeepHeart, to detect major health conditions.

Through multiple studies, it was found that DeepHeart is capable of detecting atrial fibrillation, sleep apnea, hypertension, and diabetes medical conditions.
