GE HealthCare has revealed a new platform that provides remote access to imaging data without the need for locally installed software.

MIM Anyware will help teams from departments work together by enabling users to access software across different locations. Powered by AI, Mim is a vendor-neutral medical imaging platform that provides advanced processing, analytics, and workflow automation across areas including oncology, cardiology, and neurology. GE HealthCare inherited the vendor-neutral software following its $290m acquisition of MIM Software in April 2024.

With Mim Anyware’s roll-out, physicians across different healthcare settings will be to access the same Mim session, performing functions including routine clinical processing, reviewing registrations, and dose management, together in real time.

GE HealthCare anticipates that the remote access protocol will streamline cross-functional collaboration between care teams and result in “more coordinated, efficient” patient care paradigms.

The imaging giant highlighted that it expects Mim Anyware to be particularly beneficial in cancer care, given the inherent complexities involved in clinical decision-making and the necessity for collaboration between multiple different specialists throughout the patient care journey.

Technologies that support collaboration and workflow efficiency can help radiation oncology teams work more effectively as they navigate a rapidly changing landscape, GE HealthCare stated. 

“Research has shown that effective collaboration among multidisciplinary teams plays an important role in delivering coordinated, patient-centred care. That’s why we designed Mim Anyware to redefine how clinicians engage with medical imaging data in virtual environments,” said J Anders, general manager, MIM, GE HealthCare.

“By enabling seamless access to imaging data and Mim’s powerful analysis tools directly through a web browser, we’re helping clinicians stay focused on what matters most: patient care,” Anders continued.

GE HealthCare released the first software combining its own imaging functionalities with tools enabled by MIM Software’s Encore platform in June 2025. Encore is designed to provide features including structured reporting and interpretation tools for PET/CT, SPECT/CT, and multi-modality fusion imaging within a single platform.

AI’s impact across healthcare is having an appreciable impact on the medical imaging space. A report by GlobalData forecasts that AI in healthcare will reach a valuation of $57.4bn in 2029.

Remote software rollouts are becoming more common across medical imaging to streamline collaborative workflows. Philips launched Image Management 15 in November 2025. An updated version of the Philips Vue PACS platform, the Dutch company’s system is designed to facilitate various radiology capabilities through a desktop workstation via a standard web browser.
