Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations emerged as the leading IT occupation in South & Central America with a share of 50% in August 2021, a 66.67% drop over the previous month. Computer and Information Analysts came in next, claiming a share of 14.71% in August 2021, marking a 54.55% month-on-month decline. In the third place was Database and Network Administrators and Architects with a share of 14.71% in August 2021, a 54.55% drop from July 2021.

The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, accounted for a combined average growth of 40% in the overall IT recruitment activity of South & Central America’s medical industry during August 2021 over previous month.
Boston Scientific posted 7 IT jobs in August 2021 and registered an increase of 75% over the previous month, followed by Abbott Laboratories with 5 jobs and a 25% growth. Smith & Nephew with 3 IT jobs and Medtronic with 3 jobs, recorded a 200% rise and a 25% drop, respectively, while Baxter International recorded a 50% increase with 3 job postings during August 2021.
Country-wise composition of IT hiring in South & Central America’s medical industry
Costa Rica commanded a leading presence in the region’s medical industry IT hiring activity with a 44.12% share in August 2021, a 25% increase over July 2021. Brazil featured next with a 20.59% share, down 89.06% over the previous month. Puerto Rico recorded a 5.88% share, a flat growth compared with July 2021.
Junior Level job postings dominate in August 2021
Junior Level jobs held a share of 76.47%, down by 68.67% from July 2021. Entry Level positions with a 14.71% share, registered a decline of 64.29% compared with the previous month.
In the third place was Mid Level job ads with an 8.82% share, down 87.5% over July 2021.
