Aktiia-developed health technology brand Hilo has launched its Hilo Core blood pressure monitoring system in the US.
The release introduces an option for long-term blood pressure tracking that aims to bridge the gap between traditional cuff-based methods and consumer wearables.

The product is pre-approved for Health Savings Account (HSA) and Flexible Spending Account (FSA) eligibility for US consumers.
Hilo Core is designed to provide ongoing, data-driven insights for individuals and their clinicians, moving beyond isolated measurement to generate a continuous view of blood pressure trends.
The system combines a wearable wristband, a mobile application, and a US Food and Drug Administration (FDA)-cleared connected cuff to record and validate up to 35 readings per day, including during overnight periods.
Additional features contextualise these results with sleep, step count, and heart rate data.
Duke University cardiology associate professor and Hilo medical adviser Dr Marat Fudim said: “Hilo stands out from a clinical perspective because it makes it easier for individuals with hypertension to understand and manage a condition that often goes unnoticed. High blood pressure is frequently asymptomatic, yet over time it can lead to serious complications like heart disease and stroke.
“By providing consistent, longitudinal insights, Hilo Core helps both individuals with hypertension and clinicians better understand how lifestyle and treatment decisions are impacting blood pressure, enabling earlier, more informed intervention.”
Hilo Core is positioned as a wellness product, with plans for future regulatory development.
The company reports that its optical blood pressure monitoring (OBPM) technology, which uses photoplethysmographic (PPG) signals from the wrist, removes the need for frequent cuff inflation.
Hilo recently completed a $19m Series B extension round, bringing its total funding to more than $119m, with new investment from Dell Family Office and continued support from existing backers.
