Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations emerged as the leading IT occupation in North America with a share of 61.59% in November 2021, a 10.88% drop over the previous month. Database and Network Administrators and Architects came in next, claiming a share of 11.81% in November 2021, marking a 13.73% month-on-month decline. In the third place was Miscellaneous Computer Occupations with a share of 9.07% in November 2021, an 8.64% drop from October 2021.

The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, accounted for a combined average growth of 15.26% in the overall IT recruitment activity of North America’s medical industry during November 2021 over previous month.
Sonova posted 205 IT jobs in November 2021 and registered an increase of 65.32% over the previous month, followed by Becton Dickinson and with 129 jobs and a 3.2% growth. Abbott Laboratories with 110 IT jobs and Intelerad Medical Systems with 107 jobs, recorded a 3.51% drop and a 12.63% rise, respectively, while Thermo Fisher Scientific recorded a 5.36% decline with 106 job postings during November 2021.
Country-wise composition of IT hiring in North America’s medical industry
The US commanded a leading presence in the region’s medical industry IT hiring activity with a 92.81% share in November 2021, a 14.4% decrease over October 2021. Canada featured next with a 6.25% share, up 66.3% over the previous month. Mexico recorded a 0.94% share, a drop of 25.81% compared with October 2021.
Junior Level job postings dominate in November 2021
Junior Level jobs held a share of 59.83%, down by 6.51% from October 2021. Mid Level positions with a 24.27% share, registered a decline of 18.63% compared with the previous month.
In the third place was Entry Level job ads with 15.45% share, down 19.57% over October 2021, while Senior postings accounted for 0.45%, recording a month-on-month growth of 10%.
