Equflow develops and produces disposable and single-use flowmeters for medical devices, as well as all required components.
Equflow develops and produces disposable and single-use flowmeters, as well as all required components, for medical devices.
The company’s sensor technology is recognised for its modularity and measurement accuracy, reliability and repeatability.
Its medical device customers highly value the affordability and customisation of its products.
Turbine flowmeter solutions
For use in applications that require flow or volume control, turbine flowmeters offer high accuracy and repeatability when measuring flows of low-viscous liquids.
Equflow develops a mechanical construction, enabling an almost frictionless turbine movement that causes little wear and tear.
At Equflow, the company designs customised products to suit any application, offering engineering support during testing and validation processes. Furthermore, all of its products comply with medical industry standards.
Flowmeters for medical devices
Stringent requirements prevail for flow measurements in medical technology and production processes. Measurements should be accurate, reliable and performed under sterile conditions.
Equflow’s disposable and single-use flowmeters are manufactured in a cleanroom and sterilised by gamma radiation if needed.
Dialysis systems and other medical devices and equipment that process bodily fluids must be able to be cleaned quickly and easily after each run. The fast and easy exchange of wetted parts using Equflow’s products reduced process downtime to the minimum, avoiding cross-contamination to guarantee patient safety.
Equlow’s disposable and single-use flowmeters only exchange wetted parts, as the electronics are reusable. Calibration data per flow tube is also available.
Products are available in gamma radiation-resistant polyvinylidene difluoride (PVDF) or chemical-resistant perfluoroalkoxy alkanes (PFA) material.
Single-use turbine tube technology
Equflow’s single-use PVDF and PFA turbine tubes position between two hoses that transport liquid to or from a medical machine or device component. Turbine tubes are available in various sizes, covering flow range from 20ml / min to 200 l / min.
Each turbine tube comes with a unique barcode comprising of the amount of K-factor (amount of pulses per litre), among other data such as lot and serial number. A calibrated testing procedure determines K-factors for each tube.
Upon request, Equflow supplies a complete set of validation documents and calibration certificates.
Technical specifications of Equflow’s single-use turbine tube technology include:
- High-resolution square wave output
- PVDF material exposed to gamma radiation up to 50kGy
- Suitable for low-viscous, opaque and corrosive liquids
- Repeatability of measurements: 99.85%
- Accuracy of measurements: 99%
Equflow outsources its electrics and moulded components while finalising development, production and quality control in-house. Worldwide distributors, original equipment manufacturer (OEM) companies and direct business users make use of the company’s sales and distribution services.
Flowmeters developed by Equflow measure flow of liquids in medical devices but are also useable in the fields of agriculture, fine chemicals, water treatment and biotechnology and pharmaceuticals.
Equflow uses the turbine flowmeter for flow measurement. This measurement technique has two significant advantages: the accuracy and repeatability when measuring the flow of liquids with a low viscosity.
The Digiflow flowmeters have specifically been developed for use in wide range of applications, such as (fine) chemicals, water treatment, agriculture, food processing, paper processing and other end-use/OEM applications.
Equflow, a global leader in single-use and disposable flow sensors, is pleased to announce the launch of a 1in PVDF flowmeter.
Equflow BV has been granted the ISO (International Organization for Standardization) 9001: 2015 certification.
