Australia’s medical industry registered a 5.2% drop in IT hiring activity in August 2021 when compared with the previous month, according to GlobalData’s Job Analytics database.
The industry’s overall hiring a decreased by 2.55% in August 2021 when compared with July 2021.

Out of the medical industry’s total hiring activity, IT jobs claimed an 11.25% share in August 2021, recording an increase of 0.5% over the last three-month average share.
Top five job classifications in Australia’s medical industry’s IT recruitment activity in August 2021
Out of the total job titles, the top five roles commanded a 98.18% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of Australia’s medical industry in August 2021.
1) Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers recorded a share of 49.09% in August 2021, registering a 22.86% decline over the previous month.
2) Database and Network Administrators and Architects claimed a 36.36% share, an increase of 33.33% over the previous month.
3) Computer and Information Analysts held a share of 7.27%, registering a 100% rise from July 2021.
4) Computer and Information Research Scientists captured a share of 3.64%, up 100% over the previous month.
Top five medical companies in Australia’s IT recruitment activity in August 2021
The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, have accounted for a combined average decline of 2.63% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of Australia’s medical industry during August 2021 over July 2021.
Cochlear posted 9 IT jobs in August 2021 and registered a rise of 28.57% over the previous month, followed by Getinge with 9 jobs and an 80% growth. Arjo with 8 IT jobs and Agilent Technologies with 7 jobs, recorded a 100% flat growth and a 50% decrease, respectively, while ResMed recorded a decline of 50% with 4 job postings during August 2021.
Junior Level job postings dominate in August 2021
Junior Level jobs held a share of 78.18%, down by 2.27% from July 2021. Entry Level positions with a 14.55% share, registered a decline of 33.33% compared with the previous month.
In the third place was Mid Level job ads with a 7.27% share, down 55.56% over July 2021.
