Notably, robotics was one of the most frequently referenced themes in Q4 2023, ranking highest in terms of mentions, ahead of electronic medical record (emr) systems and medical device quality control, according to GlobalData.

Of the top leading companies in the medical industry, Stryker had the greatest increase in references for robotics in Q4 2023, compared with the previous quarter. GlobalData identified 26 robotics-related sentences in the company's filings - 4% of all sentences - and an increase of 100% in Q4 2023 compared with Q4 2022. Medtronic’s mentions of robotics dropped by 20% to 24 and Smith & Nephew’s by 25% to 9 and Siemens Healthineers’s by 500% to 6 and Zimmer Biomet’s by 75% to 3.
