Management Occupations drive 3D printing-related hiring activity

Management Occupations, with a share of 24%, emerged as the top 3D printing-related job roles within the medical industry in Q4 2023, with new job postings rising by 194% quarter-on-quarter. Architecture and Engineering Occupations came in second with a share of 18% in Q4 2023, with new job postings dropping by 37% over the previous quarter.

The other prominent 3D printing roles include Computer and Mathematical Occupations with a 17% share in Q4 2023, Business and Financial Operations Occupations with a 5% share of new job postings.

Top five companies in medical industry accounted for 61% of hiring activity

The top companies, in terms of number of new job postings tracked by GlobalData, as of Q4 2023 were Align Technology, Stryker, Materialise, Envista, and Medtronic. Together they accounted for a combined share of 61% of all 3D printing-related new jobs in the medical industry.

Align Technology posted 187 3D printing-related new jobs in Q4 2023, Stryker 17 jobs, Materialise 17 jobs, Envista 12 jobs, and Medtronic 10 jobs, according to GlobalData’s Job Analytics.

Hiring activity was driven by the US with a 45.59% share of total new job postings, Q4 2023

The largest share of 3D printing-related new job postings in the medical industry in Q4 2023 was in the US with 45.59% followed by India (15.11%) and Germany (5.29%). The share represented by the US was 23 percentage points lower than the 69.07% share it accounted for in Q3 2023.
