Management Occupations, with a share of 23%, emerged as the top precision and personalized medicine-related job roles within the medical industry in Q2 2024, with new job postings rising by 9% quarter-on-quarter. Life, Physical, and Social Science Occupations came in second with a share of 14% in Q2 2024, with new job postings rising by 8% over the previous quarter.
The other prominent precision and personalized medicine roles include Healthcare Practitioners and Technical Occupations with an 11% share in Q2 2024, Sales and Related Occupations with a 11% share of new job postings.
Top five companies in medical industry accounted for 56% of hiring activity
The top companies, in terms of number of new job postings tracked by GlobalData, as of Q2 2024 were Precision Medicine Group, Guardant Health, Option Care Enterprises, Thermo Fisher Scientific, and Danaher. Together they accounted for a combined share of 56% of all precision and personalized medicine-related new jobs in the medical industry.
Precision Medicine Group posted 411 precision and personalized medicine-related new jobs in Q2 2024, Guardant Health 229 jobs, Option Care Enterprises 132 jobs, Thermo Fisher Scientific 100 jobs, and Danaher 71 jobs, according to GlobalData’s Job Analytics.
Hiring activity was driven by the US with a 72.75% share of total new job postings, Q2 2024
The largest share of precision and personalized medicine-related new job postings in the medical industry in Q2 2024 was in the US with 72.75% followed by the UK (4.73%) and Poland (3.05%). The share represented by the US was two percentage points lower than the 75.12% share it accounted for in Q1 2024.
