Middle East & Africa witnessed an 11.2% rise in IT hiring activity in the medical industry in August 2021 when compared with the previous month, according to GlobalData’s Job Analytics dashboard.

August 2021 has seen an increase of 7.82% in the overall hiring activity when compared with July 2021.

IT jobs accounted for a 12.65% share in the industry’s total hiring activity in August 2021, registering a decrease of 0.78% over the last three-month average share.

Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations leads by classification in August 2021

Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations emerged as the leading IT occupation in Middle East & Africa with a share of 65% in August 2021, a 30% rise over the previous month. Database and Network Administrators and Architects came in next, claiming a share of 17.5% in August 2021, marking a 75% month-on-month increase. In the third place was Miscellaneous Computer Occupations with a share of 10% in August 2021, a 300% rise from July 2021.

Computer and Information Research Scientists registered a share of 5% in August 2021, a flat growth over the previous month.

Top five medical companies in Middle East & Africa’s IT recruitment activity in August 2021

The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, accounted for a combined average growth of 47.37% in the overall IT recruitment activity of Middle East & Africa’s medical industry during August 2021 over previous month.

GE Healthcare posted 9 IT jobs in August 2021 and registered a flat growth over the previous month, followed by MyHeritage with 6 jobs and a flat growth. Medtronic with 6 IT jobs and Healthy io with 4 jobs, recorded a 14.29% drop and a 33.33% rise, respectively, while NovoCure recorded a flat growth with 3 job postings during August 2021.

Country-wise composition of IT hiring in Middle East & Africa’s medical industry

Israel commanded a leading presence in the region’s medical industry IT hiring activity with a 75% share in August 2021, a 42.86% increase over July 2021. Saudi Arabia featured next with a 7.5% share, up 200% over the previous month. Nigeria recorded a 5% share, a flat growth compared with July 2021.

Junior Level job postings dominate in August 2021

Junior Level jobs held a share of 62.5%, up by 92.31% from July 2021. Entry Level positions with a 20% share, registered a flat growth compared with the previous month.

In the third place was Mid Level job ads with a 17.5% share, flat growth over July 2021.
