July 2021 has seen a decrease of 4.63% in the overall hiring activity when compared with June 2021.

IT jobs accounted for an 8.6% share in the industry’s total hiring activity in July 2021, registering an increase of 0.52% over the last three-month average share.

Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations leads by classification in July 2021

Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations emerged as the leading IT occupation in North America with a share of 60.98% in July 2021, an 8.5% growth over the previous month. Miscellaneous Computer Occupations came in next, claiming a share of 8.92% in July 2021, marking an 18.83% month-on-month decline. In the third place was Computer and Information Research Scientists with a share of 8.73% in July 2021, an 11.76% growth from June 2021.

Top five medical companies in North America’s IT recruitment activity in July 2021

The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, accounted for a combined average decline of 5.91% in the overall IT recruitment activity of North America’s medical industry during July 2021 over previous month.

Danaher posted 199 IT jobs in July 2021 and registered an increase of 77.68% over the previous month, followed by Sonova with 144 jobs and an 11.66% drop. Becton Dickinson and with 103 IT jobs and Abbott Laboratories with 101 jobs, recorded a 52.53% decline and a 50.75% increase, respectively, while Medtronic recorded a 26.73% decline with 74 job postings during July 2021.

Country-wise composition of IT hiring in North America’s medical industry

The US commanded a leading presence in the region’s medical industry IT hiring activity with a 92.23% share in July 2021, a 0.59% decline over June 2021. Canada featured next with a 6.48% share, up 13.71% over the previous month. Mexico recorded a 1.29% share, a drop of 39.13% compared with June 2021.

Junior Level job postings dominate in July 2021

Junior Level jobs held a share of 62.18%, up by 2.73% from June 2021. Mid Level positions with a 22.66% share, a decline of 13.51% compared with the previous month.

In the third place was Entry Level job ads with 14.66% share, up 7.77% over June 2021, while Senior postings accounted for 0.51%, recording a month-on-month growth of 83.33%.
