Neko Health has introduced new body composition and wearables integration features to its health scan service, marking what it describes as the most significant update to its offering since launch.
According to the company, the enhanced scan uses data from its proprietary imaging devices to measure fat stored around internal organs, known as visceral fat.

Neko Health began rolling out these advancements at its clinics, allowing members to access new measures such as visceral fat and body fat percentage, as well as to integrate personal health data from wearables directly into the scan process.
The company notes this type of fat is linked to metabolic disease, insulin resistance, and fatty liver disease, and is not detected by body mass index or routine health checks.
The technology achieves this assessment without using X-ray radiation and aims to inform discussions between members and Neko clinicians regarding metabolic health.
For members with scheduled scans, the Neko Health App is available on iOS, enabling them to connect data from Apple Health.
Metrics, including step count, sleep patterns, and heart rate variability, can be imported and reviewed as part of the health scan.
Neko Health said this approach provides clinicians with more context to offer tailored guidance and that data tracked across repeat visits may help explain year-to-year changes in members’ health.
Neko Health Founder and CEO Hjalmar Nilsonne said: “Our latest advancements are more than new features — they’re a clear signal of what’s next for Neko Health. These features reflect something fundamental about how we operate: we are never finished.
“Every scan should be more valuable than the last; every visit should tell members something they couldn’t have known otherwise, and every year should bring capabilities that weren’t possible the year before. We are redesigning the system from the ground up.”
Neko Health develops its technology, software, and clinical protocols in-house, delivering its one-hour full-body health scan at sites in Stockholm, London, Manchester, and Birmingham.
In January 2025, Neko Health closed a $260m Series B funding round to fund further R&D and expand its healthcare scanner into the US and European markets.
